Ram Truck have unveiled the new 2025 Ram 1500 REV. Ram, which is now owned by Stellantis, a global mobility player with 14 brands including Vauxhall, Peugeot, Fiat, Citroën and Jeep, originally unveiled this new electric vehicle (EV) at the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas back in January. The concept was dubbed the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept so the name isn’t too different.
This all-new electric vehicle will be the first battery-electric light-duty pickup truck from the brand. It will be available in two all-electric options including a standard 168kWh pack with a targeted range of up to 350 miles (563km) and an optional 229kWh large battery pack with a targeted range of up to 500 miles (805km). This is impressive for a pickup and I’m sure it will have huge appeal to potential drivers looking to transition to an electric vehicle.
Both variants can add up to 110 miles (177km) of range in approximately 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350kW offering customers quick and convenient charging solutions. These models are also designed to help customers manage their electricity needs with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) bi-directional charging.
This offers the Ram 1500 REV the flexibility to charge another Stellantis battery-electric vehicle (BEV) or provide power back to the grid. With Ram’s mission to make lives easier, the truck can also send power to a home during a storm, run the tailgate party or provide power at the camp or work site. An onboard power panel in the bed can provide up to 7.2kW while an available onboard power panel in the frunk provides up to 3.6kW.
Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO, said: “The all-electric Ram 1500 REV is a monumental milestone on our continued journey to offer the industry’s best electrified solutions and further fortifies our award-winning lineup.
“We believe in bringing the right range of powertrain solutions to our customers and will continue to redefine the pickup truck segment. Our all-new Ram 1500 REV pushes past the competition in areas customers care about most including range, towing, payload and charge time.”
The Ram 1500 REV also performs on the road too with 654 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of torque. This means it’s no slug hitting 0-60mph (0-97kph) in just 4.4 seconds. It will also offer up to 24 inches of water fording, up to 14,000 pounds of towing power and a maximum payload capacity of 2,700 pounds. The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is available in five trims including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited and introducing an all-new trim, Tungsten.
Ram 1500 REV is part of Ram’s significant contribution to Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan to lead the way the world moves by delivering innovative, clean, safe and affordable mobility solutions. As part of Dare Forward 2030, Stellantis is investing more than €30 billion through 2025 in electrification and software to deliver battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) that meet customer demands.
The new Ram 1500 REV is expected to hit the roads in 2024/2025. This is good news for pickup drivers who want to transition to zero emissions driving. The electric pickup space is expected to be competitive, especially in the US where the pickup is king. Ford has seen massive success with its F-150 Lightning electric truck since its launch in 2021 and has since doubled its production to meet demand.
