Porsche’s new Taycan electric car has already become their best-selling car in Europe in just a few months since it became available. The new electric Taycan is already outselling their popular Cayenne sports utility vehicle, 911 sports model and even their latest Panamera model.
This is great news for the German car manufacturer and shows that the electric car world is making huge traction, even in the sports car space. Unfortunately, sales haven’t been quite as rapid in the U.S. but the Taycan remains a strong seller there.
According to Car Industry Analysis Porsche sold an impressive 1,183 Taycan electric cars during August, whereas its nearest petrol equivalent, the Panamera, saw sales drop by 71 percent to 278 units. Porsche’s Cayenne sales remained the same during the period at 771. It looks like good times ahead for the electric Porsche Taycan despite its starting price of £83,500.
