Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car brand, has announced it will reveal its next electric car, Polestar 4, at the Shanghai auto show on 18 April 2023. The newest electric car to the brand sees Polestar take the SUV coupé and transform it for the electric age.
This new model, which follows the hugely successful Polestar 2 electric crossover and the upcoming Polestar 3 electric SUV, marries the aerodynamics of a coupé with the space of an SUV in a package enhanced by modern technology. Polestar hasn’t revealed many of the details of this new car yet.
What we do know is that it will take design cues and sustainability enhancements initially showcased in Polestar’s concept cars and will make their production debut in Polestar 4. The electric SUV coupé will also be the fastest Polestar production car to date.
Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO said: “Polestar 4 is not simply a modified version of our first SUV. Instead, we reconsidered the entire design to create a new breed of SUV coupé.”
Visitors to the Shanghai auto show will find Polestar at stand 6B07 in Hall 6.2. Polestar 4 will be joined by Polestar 3 and the recently updated Polestar 2, making their first public appearance in China.
Polestar, who are working towards creating the first truly climate-neutral car by 2030 with its Polestar 0 project, recently announced it had reduced relative CO₂ emissions by eight per cent per car in 2022.
