PEUGEOT reveals new e-308 and e-308 SW electric cars

PEUGEOT has announced its latest additions to the 100 percent electric vehicle (EV) line-up with the new e-308 and e-308 SW. Both have been available in plug-in hybrid versions but now both the hatchback and estate models will be available as electric versions and will be available from 2023.

The all-electric 308 and 308 SW will be powered by a brand-new electric powertrain, with a 115kW (156bhp) motor. This is powered by a new 54 kWh high-voltage battery providing a range of up to 248 miles (400km). The introduction of the new models sees PEUGEOT become one of the first European manufacturer to offer a fully electric estate vehicle.

Both models offer a choice of three driving modes, including Eco, Normal or Sport, to suit all driving conditions. They will also feature ‘Brake’ mode that allows drivers to gain more miles when the accelerator pedal is released to optimise energy recovery.

With an on-board three-phase 11 kW charger provided with the car as standard, drivers can also benefit from 100kW rapid charging. This will power the battery from 20-80 percent in less than 25 minutes.

Technologically, the new PEUGEOT e-308 and e-308 SW feature the latest generation of driving aids to promote safe driving. These include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go function, long-range blind spot monitoring (75 metres) and Rear Traffic Alert, which warns of danger when reversing.

Inside, thenew PEUGEOT e-308 and e-308 SW offer the latest generation of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with a compact, heated steering wheel and digital head-up display and a central 10-inch touch screen.

Available in Allure and GT trim levels, the new PEUGEOT e-308 and e-308 SW will highlight the brand’s latest flair for design. Each model features a longer front bonnet and PEUGEOT’s new badge in the centre of the grille.

At the front, the fang-shaped light signature frames the Matrix LED headlamps (GT versions), along with the three-claw LED lights at the rear. We think both models look classy but especially like the estate version for its practicality and an aesthetic not dissimilar to some of the German luxury brands.

A new 18-inch aluminium wheel has been specifically developed for the 100 percent electric versions of the PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW, with aerodynamic efficiency designed to optimise performance.

The introduction of the new PEUGEOT e-308 and e-308 SW are the latest development in the brand’s aim to offer every vehicle in its line-up with an electrified variant by 2025

The new models will be available in the UK from the second half of 2023 to purchase in-store from PEUGEOT Retailers or via PEUGEOT’s Buy Online platform. No prices have been announced as yet.
