The Peugeot e-2008 has been crowned BusinessCar’s Best Electric Car of 2020 at their annual awards. The e-2008 beat some stiff competition from the 2020 finalist in the class including the Kia e-Niro, Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe.
The e-2008 was launched earlier this year and is already proving popular. It is the second car in the brand’s new generation of all-electric cars and continues Peugeot’s plan to introduce a fully electrified range by 2023.
BusinessCar is a monthly magazine that offers insightful features and news analyses that help fleet managers in their day-to-day operations. It has the UK’s largest independently audited fleet circulation, with a readership that targets close to 19,000 fleet decision-makers.
The e-2008 features a 136-horsepower electric motor that’s driven by a 50kWh battery. This provides a zero-emission range of up to 206 miles (332km) of range. Using 100kW rapid charger the e-2008 can be charged to 80 percent in as little as 30 minutes. Prices for the all-new Peugeot e-2008 start from £28,150 including the Plug-in Car Grant.
Simon Harris, Editor of Business Car said: “The Peugeot e-2008 electrifies a new model already available with petrol or diesel engines. It has just enough range to take occasional longer journeys in its stride, is affordable and has an upmarket feel.”
David Peel, Managing Director of Peugeot UK, said: “With an all-electric zero-emissions range of up to 206 miles, distinctive SUV looks and the latest safety and convenience technologies, the all-new Peugeot e-2008 is a compelling proposition. Our strategy of giving customers the power of choice, with electrified, petrol and diesel powertrain options all available, is proving to be a real success.”
