  • Two UK-based firms, consisting of autonomous vehicle software company Oxa and industrial EV manufacturer Bradshaw EV, have partnered to help make autonomous and fully-electric vehicles a reality.
  • Covering electric industrial vehicles such as utility vehicles and tow tractors, these vehicles will be able to automate many of the logistics tasks carried out by businesses daily.
  • The Oxa Driver software will be integrated into existing electric platforms from Bradshaw EV.

Autonomous EVs in the commercial sector

Last year, Oxa unveiled an autonomous Ford E-Transit, but the vehicles born from this new partnership will be designed for more specific and local business activities. Bradshaw EV creates bespoke electric vehicles for a wide variety of sectors, from airports, waste collection, hospitals, or estate management, just to give a few examples. With that mix, it’s clear that the industrial use cases for autonomous EVs under this partnership could be endless.

The first two Bradshaw EV platforms that will benefit from the Oxa Driver software will be its T800 8-tonne towing tractor, alongside its Club Car Caryall 500 utility vehicle. The autonomous T800 will be able to haul heavy loads across a number of off-road applications, across sites such as airports and construction sites. Meanwhile, the autonomous Caryall 500 will lend itself to applications such as remote data monitoring and inspection of remote or expansive infrastructure sites.

A key benefit of Oxa’s self driving tech is the ability to use a single interface no matter which vehicle type the software is applied to, allowing for rapid and scalable roll-out across a diverse fleet of vehicles within a business.

Gavin Jackson, CEO of Oxa, commented:

“Industrial sectors are ideally placed to benefit from Industrial Mobility Automation, today. Collaborating with Bradshaw EV allows us to deploy our autonomous technology on trusted vehicle platforms like the T800 and Carryall 500 at scale. Together, we are providing businesses with safe, reliable self-driving solutions that directly address operational inefficiencies and challenges, unlocking significant productivity gains across various repetitive mobility and transportation workflows.”

Drew Bradshaw, Joint Managing Director at Bradshaw EV, added:

“At Bradshaw EV, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance the value and capability we offer our customers. Collaborating with Oxa enables us to offer state-of-the-art autonomous solutions that drive efficiency, safety, and operational resilience for industrial workflows.”
