Nissan in the UK are offering customers a package deal to make driving an electric vehicle (EV) easier. The package includes an electric car, either a Nissan LEAF or e-NV200, a home charger and standard home installation.
The offer is available through their dealerships nationwide in a new finance deal with a single monthly payment. It’s designed to make life easier for customers and help them on the way to zero-emissions driving.
It is being offered by Nissan dealers as part of a typical three or four year Hire Purchase (HP) or Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) car finance agreement. The offer is the result of Nissan working with two of the UK’s leading electric vehicle chargepoint providers, Pod Point and E.ON.
Frank Oldfield, Nissan GB energy services manager, said: “Wherever possible, we want to try and reduce the complexity for customers new to electric motoring and make their transition to zero emissions motoring as easy as possible.
“With this Nissan finance package, you can secure a fantastic electric car, choose from a range of 7kW chargers, and have it efficiently installed at home, all for one single monthly payment.”
If you have off-road parking then having a dedicated electric vehicle charger, like those being offered here from Pod Point and E.ON, makes charging quicker than using a regular three-pin domestic energy supply socket.
Plus, it allows users to manage when and for how long the electric vehicle is charged. This can be more cost-efficient, by ensuring the vehicle is charged at the optimum time for you or when electricity costs are lower, overnight, for example.
Erik Fairbairn, CEO and founder, Pod Point commented: “We are delighted to be working with Nissan and our continued partnership is testament to the reliability and ease of use of Pod Point’s smart charging points as well as our dedication to outstanding customer service.”
David Butters, head of E.ON Drive, said: “As electric vehicles become the new normal in our transition to a zero-carbon future, we need to ensure drivers can recharge their batteries in the way most convenient to them.
“We’re already working to provide our customers with personalised and sustainable energy solutions that meet their needs, and we’re now delighted to be able to offer Nissan drivers a home EV charger to keep them on the road to cleaner air and a more sustainable future.”
Nissan’s most popular electric car, the LEAF, which has sold over half a million globally, is available in two battery sizes. The 40kWh model offers up to 168 miles (270km) of range, while the 62kWh version is capable of driving up to 239 miles (385km) from a single charge. Prices are £25,995 and £30,445 respectively (including Plug-in Car Grant).
