The Vauxhall Frontera leads the way with price parity between electric and hybrid models in the UK
Vauxhall has made electric driving more accessible with its New Frontera SUV, the first UK car to offer identical list prices for electric and hybrid versions. Starting at £23,495, it eliminates the typical premium for EVs, marking a major step toward affordable electrification.

The Frontera Electric is equipped with a 44kWh battery, providing up to 186 miles of range (WLTP). A Long Range version, offering 248 miles, will launch later this year. The battery can recharge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger.
James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, commented:
“New Frontera opening for orders is an important milestone in making electric vehicles more accessible, as the first model in the UK market to offer an identical list price for electric and petrol hybrid versions. With our fully refreshed electric SUV line-up, we are providing customers with even more choice as part of our ongoing efforts to democratise access to electric vehicles – whether through our Electric Streets campaign, our new Electric All In benefits package, or by offering a fully electric version of every model in passenger car and van range.”
Beyond price, the Frontera Electric offers practicality. It matches the footprint of an Astra hatchback but features a larger boot. Inside, dual 10-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay™, and recycled materials enhance comfort and sustainability.
