Monta hits the US with new Miami headquarters to improve charging reliability
Danish EV software company Monta is expanding into the US after success in Europe. The company announced today that it has opened its first American headquarters in Miami. This expansion marks Monta’s first step outside Europe. It brings its powerful charging management platform to the rapidly accelerating US market.
Monta will add 30 employees to its Miami office and connect 25,000 US charging points to its network by the end of 2025. Its goal is to hit 1 million by 2030.
Casper Rasmussen, CEO and co-founder of Monta, said:
The success we have and will keep having in the UK and Europe is the fuel of our experience and US expansion. As EV adoption picks up pace in the United States, industry players will need a platform like ours to take their business to the next level.”
Monta is already well-established in Europe. In the UK, the platform powers charging for fleets, homes, and businesses, with 600,000 charge points in its roaming network. Now, Monta aims to solve key issues in the US. Reportedly, up to a quarter of EV charges in the US are unsuccessful due to software and interface issues. Monta’s software optimises charge timing, simplifies payments, and improves reliability. As one of the world’s leading automotive nations turns to emobility, this expansion will place Monta at the heart of an unprecedented sustainable revolution.
To accelerate its rollout, Monta partnered with Emobi, North America’s largest EV charging ecosystem. This alliance instantly connects Monta’s software to 118,000 US charging points. That’s an enormous network which is due to prosper significantly from the advanced software.
Miami, a rising tech hub, provides Monta with access to talent and funding. The city’s thriving startup scene and rapid investment growth is clear—early-stage funding in Miami has tripled in five years. That makes it ideal for Monta’s entry into the American market.
Mayor Francis X. Suarez, City of Miami Mayor, said:
“Miami’s growth as a hub for innovation is clear, and we are excited to welcome Monta as they expand their U.S. presence. With venture capital investments in the Miami metro area reaching $628.8 million in Q3 alone, our city continues to attract leading companies in critical industries like EV infrastructure. Monta’s dedication to enhancing electric mobility aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainable solutions, and we look forward to supporting their local and global efforts.”
