MG teases the return of a legend and this time it’s electric

MG Motor has released a YouTube video (see below) announcing the return of a legend. It’s a futuristic-looking convertible sports car fit for a superhero and from the video looks similar to the Cyberster concept (pictured above) we brought you details of last year.

The British motor company hasn’t made any official announcement yet but the concept version was developed by the team at the MG Advanced Design Centre in London.

The new sportster is a sleeking-looking two-door, two-seater sports car that recalls the brand’s traditional design. It draws a number of styling cues from the classic MGB Roadster which is no bad thing.

The roadster in the video is an electric vehicle (EV) and features smaller wheels and tyres than the original Cyberster. Plus, the front end isn’t as elaborate but it still looks superb.

When MG announced the Cyberster they suggested it will have an impressive range of up to 500 miles (800km) and be able to accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100kph) in less than three seconds. Impressive stuff. It will also feature 5G interconnectivity.

We think the new Cyberster will be a massive hit with so few electric convertible sports cars currently available. It will join MG’s current line-up of electric vehicles including the established and award winning MG ZS EV and the game-changing All New MG5 EV
