The Mercedes‑Benz eVito panel van will receive a comprehensive update of the electric powertrain and a new battery with a usable capacity of 60kWh from the beginning of this month.
The locally emission-free electric van replaces the previous eVito launched in 2018. The big advantage here is the significantly higher range of 150-196 miles (242-314km).
This should appeal to a wider range of users in commercial transport and deliveries. The extra range will make the eVito a useful tool for pre-last mile deliveries too.
The updated eVito also offers a larger load capacity than the brand’s smaller eCitan all-electric van that offers up to 177 miles (285km) of range from its 44kWh battery. The latest eVito, which is available in two lengths, offers up to 6.6 m³ loading volume.
Klaus Rehkugler, Mercedes‑Benz Vans vice-president sales and marketing, said: “I’m delighted that with the new Mercedes‑Benz eVito panel van we are opening up commercial electric mobility for even more use cases and, thanks to the longer range, are also offering a solution for suburban and rural areas.
“Looking at its equipment specification, attractive leasing rates and available public subsidies, the eVito is on par with a conventionally powered Vito in terms of TCO in many use cases.
“This is an important aspect, especially for businesses focussing on trade and craftsmanship or fleet managers, and once again makes it clear that electric mobility is now absolutely suitable for everyday use.”
