Lotus to open its first global showroom in London’s Mayfair

Lotus, one of the world’s best-known premium and luxury brands, have announced it will open its first-ever global store in London’s upmarket Mayfair district. This is a big move for the British carmaker and comes as the brand is moving towards an electric future.

The new space will showcase Lotus’ latest vehicles including the Emira, which is the brand’s last internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, alongside the vehicles that represent the start of its electric future. These include the Evija electric hypercar and its recently released Eletre hyper-SUV electric vehicle (EV).

The new store, located at 73 Piccadilly on the corner of Berkeley Street and opposite the iconic Ritz Hotel, is currently under construction and expected to open this autumn.

It’s good to see such an iconic brand set up in one of the capital’s most exclusive areas and promote electric vehicles. Hopefully, this will help speed up the transition to electric cars in the high-end luxury and performance markets, especially with the launch of the Eletre electric crossover-style sports utility vehicle.

Geoff Dowding, Lotus executive director of sales and aftersales, said: “This flagship facility will allow anyone to see our exciting three-car range, understand our brand, speak with a Lotus Expert, configure a car using state-of-the-art digital ecommerce technology and even reserve it through our recently launched ecommerce platform.”

“As this is the first of our global stores and as it’s in the very centre of London, we fully expect Lotus Mayfair to attract many visitors from around the world. As such, it will play host to some of the most amazing Lotus cars from today and yesterday – including from our legendary racing past – as well as a packed calendar of events at the store.”
