Kia has unveiled a set of video clips to tease its new Kia EV9, the brand’s latest dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV). The EV9 is the brand’s new electric sports utility vehicle (SUV). Kia says this flagship SUV is set to accelerate the company’s transformation into a sustainable mobility solutions provider in the era of electrification.
The Kia EV9 teaser videos showcase a silhouette of the flagship SUV model, featuring its prominent front and sleek body surfaces. The new Kia EV9 features a sleek and sculptural design with a modern angular exterior profile. The striking lighting patterns created by the front and rear lamps complete the EV9’s bold identity.
The name, EV9, comes from Kia’s EV nomenclature, pairing the prefix ‘EV’ (electric vehicle) with the number ‘9’ (nine), which represents the model’s segment among Kia’s dedicated electric vehicle line-up.
The Kia EV9 follows in the footsteps of the brand’s hugely successful Kia EV6, and similarly, is built on the brand’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) dedicated battery electric vehicle platform.
In terms of practical performance, the new Kia EV9 is expected to deliver a driving range of up to 300 miles (483km). It will also feature ultra-fast charging technology with a 350kW charger that can charge the battery up to 80 per cent in 20-30 minutes.
Back in August 2022, the company released some pictures of the Kia EV9 during its gruelling verification program. Pictures from this give a clearer indication of what the new Kia EV9 will look like.
Kia will fully reveal both the exterior and interior design in mid-March and the product information will be fully disclosed during the Kia EV9 World Premiere in late March.
