Siemens inrroduces the SICHARGE D: The all-new 400kW smart charge point
Siemens has introduced a game-changing addition to the electric vehicle (EV) charging landscape: the SICHARGE D. This powerhouse boasts a 400 kW power output and is tailored specifically for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) markets. It raises the bar for EV charging, accommodating up to four vehicles simultaneously.
Markus Mildner, CEO eMobility at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, commented:
“The broad adoption of eMobility is a necessity for a more sustainable future. Reduced charging times for both eCars and eTrucks, especially en-route, will play a pivotal role in increasing convenience and acceptance of this type of transportation. SICHARGE D is a great milestone in achieving this.”
Versatility is a key component in expanding charging infrastructure. Siemens says this charger can handle destination charging, public fast-charging, or highway charging. It maintains a stable 400 kW output, even in 40°C temperatures.
As charging infrastructure rolls out, user convenience must be priorotised. Equipped with a multi-language touchscreen interface and efficient cable management, the SICHARGE D promises hassle-free charging experiences. The touchscreen even offers advertising options and integrates various payment terminals to suit their needs. Furthermore, Siemens provides comprehensive support throughout the product lifecycle. From installation to digital and remote services.
With the European Union (EU) ramping up emission reduction targets for 2030 and setting a bold goal of 100% by 2035, the urgency for a robust EV charging network is undeniable. Siemens’ SICHARGE D is poised to be an important factor in this transition, offering a practical and efficient solution, with benefits for CPOs and users alike.
