Renault expands its electric light commercial vehicle lineup with an all-new E-Tech offering
The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric marks a significant step forward for Renault, completing their all-electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) range. The range also includes the Kangoo Van E-Tech Electric and Master E-Tech Electric. The Trafic model has garnered trust from over 2.4 million professionals since 1980. As such, it retains its core strengths while offering high performance and customization options.
Design
This new electric Trafic Van inherits the characteristics that made it a mainstay in the LCV market for 40 years. It offers versatile choices in terms of lengths and heights. This includes load spaces ranging from 5.8 cu. meters to 8.9 cu. meters, along with impressive towing and payload capacities. It even comes in a floor cab version, offering flexibility to meet various business needs.
The interior of the Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is designed with practicality in mind. It boasts up to 88 liters of storage space, including cleverly designed compartments in the console and doors. The vehicle’s innovative features don’t stop there. When you fold down the middle seat, the rear transforms into a mobile office. That comes complete with a notepad storage slot, catering to the needs of professionals on the go.
Performance
The van is powered by a 52 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 297 km. With a warranty covering the battery for 8 years or 160,000 km, Renault ensures peace of mind for its customers. It’s equipped with a 90 kW (122 hp) motor, delivering 245 Nm of torque instantly for a smooth driving experience. Eco mode maximizes range, while a ‘long range’ version, limited to 90 km/h, offers an extended range of 322 km.
Charging is convenient, the Trafic includes a single-phase 7 kW AC charger for home use. Buyers can also get a 22 kW AC fast charger for public stations, and a 50 kW DC fast charger available next year.
With its comprehensive features and commitment to electrification, Renault continues to drive innovation in the electric LCV market. The Trafic Van E-Tech Electric is set to open for orders this October, with deliveries starting in November.
