InstaVolt begins its expansion into Spain with a new charging hub outside Barcelona

InstaVolt has launched its first EV charging site in Spain at Cines Sucre in Vic, just 40 miles from Barcelona. This marks the beginning of a major expansion across Europe, announced just weeks ago. The company plans to install 16,000 chargers by 2030, including 11,000 in the UK and Ireland, 5,000 in Spain and Portugal, and 300 in Iceland.

The new charging site in Vic is strategically located near the C-17 highway, making it a key stop for commuters and tourists heading into Barcelona or the Pyrenees. InstaVolt will also install its first chargers in Portugal soon, starting in the town of Pegoes.

The company is committed to expanding its reliable, ultra-rapid charging network across Europe. This will give more EV drivers access to convenient charging options in high-traffic areas. What’s more, InstaVolt recently upgraded its network in the UK with the potential for 100% renewable energy.

InstaVolt has already found success in Iceland, where over 70 chargers are operational or leased. The company’s expansion reflects the growing demand for EV charging, as called upon by the UK’s Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, just weeks ago.
