Hyundai releases teaser sketch of its upcoming IONIQ 6 electric car

Hyundai Motor Company have today revealed a design concept sketch of its new  IONIQ 6. This is the brand’s second model in its IONIQ all-electric vehicle (EV) lineup brand. The first was the IONIQ 5 electric crossover which has become an instant hit. It certainly impressed us when we test drove it and can’t wait for the new IONIQ 6 to arrive.

The concept sketch depicts the unique and streamlined silhouette of the IONIQ 6 saloon car. Inspired by the company’s Prophecy concept EV, IONIQ 6 will be communicated as the Electrified Streamliner with clean, simple lines and a purely aerodynamic form. The Prophecy (picture below) was certainly a cool-looking car with its space-age aesthetic.

The streamliner design typology evident in the sketch reflects Hyundai designers’ commitment to satisfy both looks and functional needs of customers in the electric mobility era.

The IONIQ 6 takes advantage of Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) to provide a stretched wheelbase and optimised interior design.
