Hyundai has announced the launch of ‘AllDayEnergy’, a new global brand which brings its smart EV charging services together under a single identity. The service starts with ‘V1G’ smart charging, rolling out in the UK before the end of 2026, allowing users to adjust charging times based on factors such as personal requirements, electricity prices, and grid capacity. This can help bring further cost savings to EV ownership, by allowing drivers to easily schedule charging during cheaper hours of electricity.
After initially debuting with V1G compatibility, the service will also expand to include vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) capabilities, along with a wider rollout of the brand in other countries.
Hyundai already runs vehicle-to-everything (V2X) services in several markets, but this marks the first time all services will eventually be brought together under a global name. It is already piloting V2G technology in South Korea, and has deployed V2H systems in the US to provide emergency backup power during events such as wildfires. In the Netherlands, it is already trialling V2G and smart charging services. AllDayEnergy will be accessed through the Hyundai and Kia vehicle apps, initially starting with the Kia App for UK-based users later this year.
Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group, commented:
“When we launch AllDayEnergy through our Kia App later this year, we will be taking a significant step towards establishing our identity as a smart energy service provider. We will continue to expand our AllDayEnergy service globally, allowing customers to seamlessly optimise their energy usage, reduce their energy costs, and contribute to grid sustainability.”
