- Hyundai Motor Europe has announced a restructure of its leadership team, with marketing, product, and PR now becoming separate divisions.
- The move comes after Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President of Marketing, Product and PR, has decided to leave the company, after a seven year stint – in which he helped oversee the launch of key EVs such as the IONIQ 5.
- As Hyundai has a goal of only selling zero-emission vehicles in Europe by 2035, the reshuffle will help communicate Hyundai’s changing brand image to its customers.
Hyundai reshuffles its marketing, product, and PR departments.
Under the changes, marketing and product will now be individual, which each reporting directly to Hyundai Motor Europe’s CEO, Michael Cole. Additionally, the areas of PR and Communications will become a combined sub-group, which also reports direct to the CEO. Under this, two new roles have been created – with Vice President of Product going to Raf Van Nuffel, and Vice President of Marketing going to Laura Rathai. Both previously held the roles of directors in these respective departments.
Hyundai say that these changes will help “level up” its product and marketing performance in Europe, and comes as the brand puts an ever heavier focus on electric vehicles. Earlier this year, it announced that its N Performance brand would become fully-electric in the region, whilst it wants all vehicles sold in Europe to be fully-electric, in just over a decade.
Michael Cole, President and CEO, commented:
“I wish to express gratitude to Andreas-Christoph Hofmann for what he has accomplished in his role with Hyundai Motor in the regional HQ. He played a key role in transforming our brand and shaping the awareness on our journey on becoming a smart mobility solutions provider. With his extensive experience in Marketing, Product and PR, he led the restructuring of these important leadership functions, to help establish an organisation, which is even more agile, dynamic and future proof.”
