Henrik Fisker posts mock-up picture of electric pick-up on LinkedIn to show where the company is heading

Henrik Fisker, the Danish automotive designer and CEO at Fisker Incorporated, has posted a mock-up picture of a new lifestyle electric pick-up truck on LinkedIn. This could be the company’s next electric vehicle and join a market that could be huge in the coming years, especially in the US.

Fisker, CEO at Fisker Incorporated, said on LinkedIn: “Ok, yes, next vehicle might be a lifestyle pick up truck! But not just any truck! We want to create the lightest, most efficient EV pick up in the world! Making it, the most sustainable! Image is just a teaser! Not the final: final will be way more radical!”

Fisker is no stranger in the world of automotive design. He is best known for his involvement with designing high-end cars including Aston Martin’s DB9 and V8 Vantage and the BMW Z8, before teaming up with Quantum Technologies to start Fisker Automotive. The two parted ways in 2013 and Fisker has continued to be involved with designing cars since. In 2016 the designer started Fisker Incorporated to design all-electric cars and vehicles.

Fisker mentioned on LinkedIn that he wants the truck to be lightweight which will help to improve the range and efficiency of the vehicle. He was also asked on the social media platform if the company would produce a compact saloon (sedan). Fisker said they would not because it’s a dying market but did say that a crossover or compact hatchback offers better value, though.

Currently, in the US several companies are working on electric trucks including the Bollinger B1, Ford F15O Electric, General Motors Electric Hummer, Nikola Badger, Rivian R1T and Telsa Cyber Truck. In a country that loves pick-up trucks, Fisker joining the party can only be a good thing increasing the choice of zero-emissions electric pick-ups and potentially helping to keep prices down.
