- At the annual Fleet News Awards, which awards a sizable batch of automotive-related trophies, GRIDSERVE won the coveted EV Chargepoint Operator of the Year award for the second year in a row.
- The chargepoint operator gong beat InstaVolt, Osprey, Mer, and Ohme to first place, who were all shortlisted by the judges.
- The award comes after GRIDSERVE added 300 chargers to its electric highway last year – and 2024 is set to beat that number.
GRIDSERVE takes the crown
The EV charging operator’s win was given by the judges in part due to high reliability, network growth, and access to over 300 350kW-capable charge points on the network. Accessibility was also a key factor in their win, with wider bays at charging sites, and options for contactless payment across the network.
GRIDSERVE’s revolutionary Electric Forecourts® were also praised, such as the one recently opened at London’s Gatwick airport, along with the ‘EV Gurus’ at these sites: on-site assistants which give customers guidance on how to use electric chargers, alongside general EV advice for prospective electric car buyers.
GRIDSERVE commented on the developments:
“2024 is already on track to set new records in the nationwide rollout of EV charging… It’s growth that is desperately needed as EV uptake continues to rise, with one million electric cars and vans now on UK roads and forecasts suggesting the two million landmark will be hit in as little as two years.”
