Ohme and GoPlugable partner to streamline smart charging across Ireland
GoPlugable, Ireland’s innovative platform for locating and sharing home charging points for electric vehicle (EV) drivers, has announced its new partnership with Cork-based Ohme. This collaboration aims to enhance the convenience of EV charging and improve Ireland’s charging infrastructure.
Ohme charger owners in Ireland can now join GoPlugable as hosts. This allows them to share their home EV chargers when not in use and earn extra income. Furthermore, customers will benefit from exclusive offers when they sign up on the GoPlugable platform.
GoPlugable CEO, Maebh Reynolds, commented:
“We are delighted to announce Ohme as our official home charging partner. With Ohme the fastest-growing smart EV charging company in Ireland, it’s great for us to be working with them to help with the transition to greater EV adoption in all forms.”
David Watson, Ohme CEO, added:
“GoPlugable is a really exciting new company for Ireland, helping to grow EV adoption and make it easier for drivers to make the switch. This collaboration will help Ohme customers not only to get paid from renting their charger out to other EV users, but to help play a part in growing the EV public charging network.”
These smart chargers connect with all Irish electricity suppliers and automatically adjust an EV’s charging schedule to take advantage of off-peak tariffs. For example, charging a 77kWh Volkswagen ID.3 from zero to 100 percent using SSE Airtricity’s Night Boost tariff could cost just €7.34. Over a year and 10,000 kilometers of driving, this results in running costs of less than €130.
Ohme is recognised as the official EV charger provider for the Volkswagen Group, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Cars, and Polestar in Ireland. This continues the partnership expansions Ohme has been executing recently to extend its services and streamline smart charging across Europe.
