GM expands EV charging access with the Tesla Supercharger Network
Starting today, GM EV drivers can tap into Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. GM has opened access to over 17,800 Tesla Superchargers in the US.
GM drivers will use a NACS DC adapter for the network. These adapters, approved by GM, can be purchased through GM’s vehicle brand apps for $225. The apps will also allow users to locate Tesla Superchargers, check station availability, start a charging session, and pay—all in one place.
By adding Tesla’s network, GM customers now have access to over 231,800 public Level 2 and DC fast chargers across North America. This number will keep growing as GM continues to work on expanding charging infrastructure in key areas.
Wade Sheffer, Vice President of GM Energy, commented:
“GM’s ongoing efforts to help accelerate the expansion of public charging infrastructure is an integral part of our commitment to an all-electric future.
Enabling access to even more publicly available fast chargers represents yet another way GM is focused on further improving the customer experience and making the transition to electric more seamless.”
