Chevrolet, who are based in Detroit and part of General Motors (GM), have revealed a sneak picture of the new all-electric Silverado EV with pictures of its fixed glass roof. The new Silverado electric vehicle (EV) will make its debut at CES 2022, which is one of the world’s most influential technology events.
The brand also confirmed the Silverado electric pick-up will feature an available segment-leading fixed-glass roof for retail models. This offers expansive visibility, increased headroom and an enhanced experience of spaciousness for both front and rear passengers. This is the first application of an available fixed-glass roof on a General Motors pick-up in the full-size truck segment.
The fleet and retail versions of the electric Silverado will offer customers a variety of options and are expected to be in high demand. In addition to the fixed-glass roof, Chevrolet has confirmed the availability of ‘four-wheel-steer, which is a chassis feature that enables the vehicle to steer all four wheels.
What’s impressive is that the all-electric Silverado pick-up will offer customers an estimated range of more than 400 miles (644km) from a full charge. This should be more than enough to dispel an issues of range anxiety. Prices haven’t been revealed yet but we expect them to be competitive with combustion vehicles.
The reveal of the new Silverado will take place during the opening keynote delivered by General Motors Chair and CEO Mary Barra on 5 January 2022.
