London Stansted Airport continues its EV expansions with a new Evolt Charging rapid EV charging hub
Evolt Charging has launched a significant new rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at London Stansted Airport. The hub is now open to the public and features 10 charging bays equipped with Evolt Touch units. These units deliver up to 150kW of power, allowing for a full charge in 30 minutes.
The Evolt Touch units are distinguished by their 32-inch touch screens. These display tariff and payment information and provide multilingual instructional content. These screens also double as advertising platforms for the airport and nearby businesses like Burger King and Caffe Nero.
Gareth Powell, Managing Director at London Stansted, said:
“We are fully committed to the sustainable and responsible growth of London Stansted, which is why we’re delighted to open our first EV charging hub at the airport.
This new facility is ideally located so that passengers, commuters, staff, local residents, and businesses passing through can grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee while recharging their vehicles. Our focus is to continue driving forward on our commitment to reach net zero carbon operations by 2038.”
One of the key features of the Evolt Touch units is their flexibility. They can offer either one or two power outlets, supporting simultaneous or sequential charging. This maximises power availability, automatically starting the next vehicle’s charge once the previous one is complete. Additionally, the units can be configured with clusters and satellite units to meet various customer needs and environmental conditions.
Lara Navetta, Sales Director at Evolt Charging, says:
“We pride ourselves on building the best portfolio of charging technology and we know that rapid and ultra-rapid charging is key to the future of EV driving and uptake. We’re proud to support London Stansted with the launch of its first rapid EV charging hub, which marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment to sustainable travel.”
