Envevo expands into Saudi Arabia, with Foad Albakri at the helm

Envevo, leading UK EV charging specialist, has officially expanded into Saudi Arabia. This move makes Envevo the Kingdom’s first dedicated EV charging company and the first European EV Infrastructure Specialist to expand into the region. The expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030, a national push toward sustainable mobility and an economic, social, and cultural transformation.

In line with the expansion, Envevo has appointed Foad Albakri as Managing Director for its Saudi operations. Albakri brings over a decade of EV industry experience. In the UK, he worked with major names like Tesla, BP, Shell, and Gridserve, helping them establish charging infrastructure. He also made an impact across Europe, supporting major fleets such as Amazon, DHL, UPS, and various national post carriers electrify their fleets.

Albakri’s work has already had a substantial impact in Saudi Arabia

Albakri led the deployment of the country’s first large off-grid EV charging network as part of the Red Sea Project. The project established an initial fleet of 80 luxury EVs to facilitate high-end travel across the region, as well as electric buses and trucks for back-of-house operations. He also supported other high-profile initiatives like NEOM. Now, as Envevo’s leader in the Kingdom, Albakri is expanding the company’s services across the region.
