EnBW is propelling EV access in Germany by installing its 5,000th public fast-charging points

The milestone makes EnBW the first company in the country to achieve this feat. The energy giant is not slowing down; it plans to add 1,000 more fast-charging points by year-end.

A network of fast-charging stations is essential for the emobility transition. For years, EnBW has been steadily expanding this infrastructure. Their goal is to make fast charging accessible wherever drivers are—mirroring the tendency for public destination charging across europe and beyond. This user-focused approach means charging can become an easy part of daily life.

The company installed more fast-charging points with up to 400 kilowatts of power in the past six months than in the entire first half of last year. What’s more, all of EnBW’s charging stations operate on 100% green electricity.

By mid-year, EnBW aims to reach 6,000 public fast-charging points. Looking further ahead, they plan to multiply this number fivefold by the end of the decade, with an annual investment of around 200 million euros.

EnBW’s efforts are reshaping the emobility landscape in Germany. By providing a widespread and efficient charging network, they are fostering the adoption of EVs and supporting the EU’s impending decarbonisation deadlines.
