- Dutch electric van startup, FLYNT, has unveiled its first model, a fully-electric light commercial van set to hit the streets of Europe in the near future.
- This debut model will service a versatile range of operations, from regional deliveries, to urban and last-mile delivery operation.
- FLYNT’s strategic partnership with Chinese GAC Group subsidiary, MiracoMotor, has aided the firm in bringing an entirely new manufacturer to the van market so rapidly.
FLYNT reveals its first electric van, with help from GAC subsidiary MiracoMotor
FLYNT is hoping that its success as a startup manufacturer will lie in being an ‘asset-light’ OEM – in which rather than owning production or parts factories or carrying out its own research and development, it outsources this, instead focusing on product strategy, customer experience, and the construction of a sales and service network which will initially span Europe. For its first model now revealed, this production and R&D is being led in partnership with MiracoMotor. This is an eLCV branch of one of China’s biggest automotive firms, GAC Group (who themselves plan to bring passenger EVs to Europe this year).

This partnership means that its first model is designed with a brief for Europe, but carries class-leading EV technology from what is a largely respected Chinese manufacturer. This combination, FLYNT says, will combine European expectations with the cost advantage traditionally associated with Chinese OEMs.
FLYNT will initially launch in Europe in 2026, in select territories at first – before ramping up to target 26 target markets across Europe.
With this ever-nearing launch date, FLYNT’s electric van certainly won’t be without competition, with Flexis’ trio of next-generation electric vans also arriving in Europe from next year, while Kia’s new PV5 electric van will arrive later this year. Chinese-brand electric vans will also hot up the competition, with BYD bringing a fully-electric van designed for the European market, while Geely-owned Farizon has already launched its fully-electric van in the UK.
Whilst pricing for FLYNT’s first electric van is yet to be confirmed, technical specifications are already available. A 100kWh battery will provide a drivable range of up to 500 kilometres (310 miles), whilst efficiency stands at 20kWh per 100km – which should result in further lower costs of ownership compared to some of its EV rivals. As a sub-3.5 tonne model, maximum payload stands at 1,630 kilograms. Meanwhile, its 800-volt architecture will also allow for a 220kW fast charging speed, along with V2G and V2L functionality.
Laura Peschke, Co-Founder of FLYNT, commented:
“We’ve spent the last 18 months in constant dialogue with customers across Europe – from logistics to construction to service fleets. This vehicle is the result of that ongoing co-creation process. It reflects real needs, not assumptions. Being close to the customer isn’t just a strategy for us – it’s who we are.”
