To celebrate UK Disability History Month Oxfordshire-based micro-mobility manufacturer EAV have launched its latest electric assisted vehicle that provides disabled passenger access. EAV, who launched its EAVGo! Taxi recently, have adapted the design to offer simple and uncomplicated access for disabled wheelchair users.

UK Disability History Month runs which from November 18 to December 22 is now in its 11th year. The annual event creates a platform to focus on the history of the struggle for equality and human rights.
The new wheelchair access EAV Go! offers users access via a ramp at the rear of the vehicle that folds up to form the rear bulkhead. The rear ramp is easily and quickly deployed, and once back in place seals to offer the same levels of comfort, warmth or cooling and weather protection as the EAVGo taxi.
This new creation from EAV is based on its EAV2cubed ecargo vehicle that is lightweight with zero emissions and offers a great way to ease congestion as well as improve efficiency within towns and cities. Production of the EAVGo! will start in spring 2021.
Adam Barmby, Founder and CEO of EAV, said: “It was critical for us to be able to offer everyone the ability to access and use an EAVGo! as a passenger. This enabled us to design a unique vehicle where the rear bulkhead can fold down into a ramp for easy wheelchair access.”
“The value of the global e-hailing market for taxis and plug-in hybrids is forecast to hit £150 billion by 2025. This is a lot of journeys meaning a lot of emissions and congestion in cities worldwide. The EAVGo! taxi will help to significantly reduce those issues while safely, efficiently and comfortably delivering the passenger, disabled or fully able, to their desired location.”
