For so many people, Christmas is about togetherness. This Christmas, more drivers than ever will be brought together without releasing any emissions. Join us in sharing the EV love with our Driving Home for Christmas series, and showing the world: Anything an ICE car can do, an EV can do better.
Each year, drivers in the UK alone take 20-21 million car trips over the holidays. With the number of EVs on the road growing, an increasing share of these journeys will be powered by clean energy.
As of October 2024, nearly 1.3 million electric cars are on UK roads. That’s about 3.8% of all cars in the country. The growth has been rapid—since 2020, the number of EVs has surged from 205,770 to over a million.
However, the primary concern that still holds many people back is ‘charging anxiety’. The fear that charging stations will be full or malfunctioning. The UK now has over 72,000 charge points, and ultra-rapid chargers are becoming more common.
Join us in celebrating an electric Christmas!
This holiday season, we’re inviting EV drivers to share their sustainable journeys home to their friends, families, and loved ones. All with the support of Women Drive Electric, EVA England, and Drax Electric Vehicles. We will release the submissions across the festive season as online postcards, showing the world that no journey is too far for an EV.
