Austrian electric carmaker DEUS has unveiled its Vayanne electric hypercar at the New York International Auto Show. The high-performance luxury electric vehicle (EV) is the result of a collaboration between DEUS Automobiles, Italdesign, and Williams Advanced Engineering.
Part of the partnership was the shared goal of producing the first electric vehicle in automotive history to cross the 2,200 horsepower mark, while still delivering a comfortable and luxurious ride, outstanding performance figures and offering daily usability in the electric hypercar class.

The slick-looking Vayanne with its beautiful curves has a ground clearance of 12 cm (4.7 inches) for maximum aerodynamic efficiency yet features useable storage space for practicality.
What will impress is the performance, with the Vayanne hitting 0-62mph (0-100kph) in just 1.99 seconds and offering a top speed of 248mph (400kph).
Marco Volpengo, Italdesign head of automotive business development Europe, said: “We are really satisfied with the results achieved with the Vayanne, in this first phase of our collaboration with DEUS.
“Thanks to our distinctive experience in low series vehicle development and manufacturing, we are able to provide our technical support and know-how. Moreover, we are excited to apply and integrate the innovative technologies provided by our partner Williams Advanced Engineering.”
The production version of the DEUS Vayanne will feature technical support from Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering. Williams Advanced Engineering, who recently partnered with Nyobolt to develop next generation of battery-powered automotive powertrains, and Italdesign are no strangers to collaboration. They announced a partnership in 2021 for a high performance and flexible electric vehicle platform called EVX.

The rolling chassis utilised on the Vayanne features Williams Advanced Engineering’s expertise in electrification, weight reduction, innovative chassis structures and vehicle and system integration.
Dyrr Ardash, Williams Advanced Engineering head of strategic partnerships, said: “Building on our existing and successful collaborative partnership with Italdesign, we are delighted to be part of the world premiere for the DEUS Vayanne, a hypercar that seeks to combine luxury with ultimate performance.
“Working as the Electrification and Technology Partner, we look forward to employing our expertise in electrification to support the programme’s performance targets.”
DEUS’ Vayanne joins a growing list of electric hypercars on the way including the Automobili Pininfarina Battista, Lotus Evija, Rimac Nevera and Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne.
While these cars are out of most people’s grasp, they are helping to push design and technology, which will potentially filter down to everyday electric cars to deliver better performance and efficiency.
First deliveries of the DEUS Vayanne are expected in 2025.
