The EV SUMMIT 2024 takes an infrastructural twist on day two, instilling confidence in our EV charging network in every driver
After a phenomenal start to this year’s summit, we’re getting ourselves ready for another jam-packed day. The theme of this year’s summit is ‘Driving EV Sales – Charging into the Early Mainstream’. Yesterday’s panellists covered this topic wholeheartedly with a focus on the importance of consumer confidence in adoption. To hit that essential 34% of adoption which will tip EVs into the mainstream.
We’re extremely excited to continue and develop the discussion today, with more of an infrastructural twist. Charging made an appearance throughout the day yesterday. Today, we’re digging into roll-out, reliability, visibility, accessibility, and ease-of-use. These aspects are essential to ensuring that anyone can feel confident when they sit in the driver’s seat of an EV. They need to be sure that there will be charge points on the way, they will be easy to find, easy to use, and easy to pay for.
Today’s keynote speakers include:
- Roel Vissers – Chief Commercial Officer, Milence
- Aleksandra O’Donovan – Head of Electrified Transport, BloombergNEF
- Andrew Pilkington – Deputy CEO, VinFast
- Oxana Grishina – Head of Section, Business & Transformation, Hyundai
- Peter Matkin – Executive Director – Program Management, Vehicle Concepts, Chery
Day Two shifts its focus towards innovative strategies and technologies driving the future of EV adoption, with a real swing towards infrastructure.
The day will begin with Konect’s panel discussion, dissecting the need for reliable charging infrastructure. ChargeGuru follows with a session on strategies beyond public charging, emphasising alternative solutions to empower EV users. Plug Me In will then discuss how we can encourage EV adoption through investments to accelerate technology deployment.
The final session will feature two panels. Virta will delve into the complexities of scaling up EV infrastructure and energy management solutions. Vauxhall will close the day by discussing the gap between customer expectations and existing charging infrastructure.
The themes of the day springboard from yesterday’s discussions around encouraging the early mainstream audience to bring on the next level of EV adoption. Today’s infrastructural focus will draw upon the issue of charging anxiety to inform our decisions going forward as an industry.
