Day two of the 2021 EV Summit is about to kick off at University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School

Yesterday was a hugely successful first day at the 2021 EV Summit that took place at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. Once again, ElectricDrives will be covering the day’s events and we look forward to hearing more from the world’s emobility leaders.

The EV Summit, now in its fourth year, brings together the world’s most significant gathering of emobility experts to explore how to advance battery-electric mobility for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

The Summit features 10 panels across two days, covering the significant business issues on the rapid transition to emobiity. This year the EV Summit is placing the master narrative of decarbonisation at the centre of the event.

The EV Summit is back as a hybrid, in-person meets digital event. The EV Summit will bring international leaders to the summit digitally with UK representatives joining in-person. The EV Summit has been noted for attracting CEO speakers and as a platform for major announcements in the emobility sector.

Yesterday, we reported that Shell made the big announcement that it has the ambition to have 50,000 on-street electric vehicle (EV) charge posts installed across the UK by the end of 2025. This will take place through ubitricity, who are part of the Shell group.

Globally, Shell is aiming to expand its EV charging offer to operate 500,000 charge points by 2025. This is part of its broader target to be a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050, in step with society’s progress in achieving the goal of the UN Paris Agreement on climate change.

We expect day two of the EV Summit to bring some big news too. The event has Visa as the lead partner, who are joined by other partners including Arup, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, DNV, EY, Go With Flow, Greenflux, Improved Corporate Finance, Shell Recharge, Wood and Zaptech.
