Ohme partners with Currys to offer smart EV chargers

Currys, the UK’s largest electrical retailer, has teamed up with Ohme, a leading smart EV charger manufacturer. Currys will now offer Ohme’s award-winning EV chargers directly to consumers. Customers can soon purchase the chargers online and in 50 of Currys’ flagship stores.

Zoe Lucid, Senior Buyer at Currys, explained the move:

“With EV sales in the UK up more than 10% this year, this new partnership between Currys and Ohme chargers was a natural step to offer to our customers.

Using a smart tariff like Intelligent Octopus Go could reduce an annual EV charging bill to just £127.50. This compares to £416 on a standard tariff or over £1,100 for petrol.

It’s an exciting new route to the retail market that will bring EV chargers to a new audience, helping them to access smarter, greener and cheaper EV charging in the future and ensuring that no driver is left behind in the transition to e-mobility.”
