CUPRA Tavascan order books open in UK, starting at £47,340

  • Volkswagen Group’s sportier take on the Volkswagen ID.5, the CUPRA Tavascan, has arrived, with order books for the electric coupe-SUV opening in the UK on the 11th of September.
  • The Tavascan will start at £47,340 – slightly higher than the ID.5, which starts at £45,860, and is built on the same platform, but lower than the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron’s £53,465 starting price, also based on the same MEB underpinnings.
  • The new EV will be available in both 286PS and 340PS power outputs, with the latter allowing a sports car-rivalling 0-62mph time of 5.5 seconds.

A new electric SUV hits the market

Once order books open, 1% APR finance will be available on plans up to 48 months, while CUPRA will also make a £3,000 deposit contribution – reducing the purchase price of the Tavascan straight away. Alongside this, customers will also be able to choose between either a complementary Ohme home charger, or £700 worth of charging credit through the CUPRA charging service.

Whilst the purchase offers available will no doubt help make the Tavascan a popular option, it’ll also be chosen by those who want something with some Spanish flair over its Audi, Skoda, and Volkswagen cousins. CUPRA designers were evidently allowed a fair amount of free reign in the Tavascan’s design. From both the outside and inside, it’s hard to pick out its Volkswagen ID.5 origins.

Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, Marcus Gossen, commented on the upcoming launch:

“We’re really excited about the Tavascan opening for order in the UK. This is a culmination of years of hard work, innovation, and design coming together to create the future of CUPRA. We’re equally thrilled to be able to offer customers the chance to reserve the first 50 Tavascan’s early, prioritising their order and making them one of the first on the road in the UK. The Tavascan marks the next step in the CUPRA electrification journey, and we’re delighted to be able to bring that to life on the UK roads from 11th September this year.”
