CUPRA Raval order books open in UK, with prices starting at £23,785

CUPRA Raval EV opens for pre-order in the UK from £23,785, with government grants available on select models.

CUPRA has opened pre-order books for its fully-electric Raval hatchback, becoming the cheapest EV sold by the brand. Prices are set to start at £23,785, and the manufacturer has confirmed that certain specifications will also qualify for the UK’s Electric Car Grant, at the £1,500 level.

This becomes the third fully-electric model offered by the brand, following the slightly larger Born hatchback and Tavascan SUV.

Starting the CUPRA Raval lineup at its most affordable point will be the ‘Origin’ specification, offering a 37kWh battery, 113 horsepower, and a 186 mile range for £23,785. If you want a model with the larger 52kWh battery, offering a boosted range of up to 277 miles and increased power, prices will start at £28,495, rising up to £34,810. It’s worth noting that all 52kWh cars will qualify for a £1,500 Electric Car Grant, helping bring their prices down to the costs mentioned above.

The CUPRA Raval becomes one of the first cars within the Volkswagen Group to debut on a new ‘MEB+’ EV architecture, which brings improved efficiency, higher range, and improved charging speeds to its models. It’s also being deployed on a number of other affordable electric cars within the group, such as the new Volkswagen ID. Polo, Skoda Epiq, and Volkswagen ID. Cross.

On the charging front, the 52kWh Raval supports up to 105kW rapid charging, meaning a 10–80% top-up can be completed in around 30 minutes on a suitable public charger – competitive for a car at this price point. The interior, meanwhile, leans into CUPRA’s sporty identity with a 12.9-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, and a driver-focused cockpit. First deliveries in the UK are expected later this year, putting it up against rivals such as the Renault 5 and sportier Alpine A290.
