Cabify and Polestar collaborate to bring 100 Polestar 2s into Spain’s ride-hailing fleet

Cabify and Polestar have joined forces in a significant move to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) to Barcelona and Madrid’s ride-hailing sector. Under their agreement, a fleet of 100 Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor Plus units will hit the streets, with 50 cars for each city. These EVs boast an impressive urban range of up to 655 kilometres on a single charge.

Javier Dorado, Cabify’s Director of Public Affairs in Spain, commented:

“With the acquisition of these new 100% electric vehicles, we reaffirm Cabify’s commitment to the city of Barcelona, promoting a more efficient and environmentally friendly urban mobility. These kinds of agreements are very important for our brand as they help us to give visibility to our products as well as contribute to our main objective which is to promote and accelerate the sift to 100% electric mobility. We are very happy that Cabify’s customers can appreciate the quality of our Polestar 2.”

Operated by Vecttor, a subsidiary of Cabify, these vehicles will propel the fleet transition in Spain. Beyond environmental benefits, the collaboration includes a perk for Cabify’s business partners in Barcelona and Madrid. Now, partners can purchase Polestar vehicles at a discounted rate.

This deal contributes to Cabify’s recent efforts to expand its EV presence, following a $110 million investment to grow in Latin America and Spain. The company aims to introduce a total of 1,400 EVs across Spain in the coming years. Currently boasting over 50 million registered users globally, Cabify continues to propel electric fleets across Europe. Partnerships like this are essential to fulfilling its ambitious goals.
