Top Women in EV returns for its second in-person event to strengthen the emobility sector with diverse perspectives
The day kicked off with a bustling networking session over coffee. Like last time, there was a real buzz of positive conversation, and a palpable sense of changing tides.
Gill Nowell, Director of Emobility at Green.TV Media, welcomed the crowd. She reinforced the event’s mission: attracting and retaining top female talent in EV.

Powering Progress Through DEI

Janine Albrecht Webb took to the stage with a talk on “Powering Progress Through DEI”. The General Manager of Mobility & Convenience at Shell emphasised that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are not just nice-to-haves but mission-critical. Her message highlighted the real-world impact of diverse teams and inspired the room to push for meaningful change.
Empowering and Retaining Women
Next, a standout panel discussion, led by Daveena Saranna from Green.TV, tackled the challenges and opportunities for women in EV. Panellists included Beth Reece (Benefits Manager at Auto Trader), Sasha Evans (Head of UK EMobility at Shell), Charnjit Saranna (Co-founder & CFO at EZOO), and Sian Butcher (Training Manager UK&I + Middle East at Tesla). They shared powerful insights on how to attract, retain, and empower women in the industry, focusing on mentorship, inclusive work cultures, and real-world examples of progress.

Later, Toby Corballis from Adaptavis presented a sharp, practical case study on building gender-diverse teams. He provided actionable ideas for companies looking to support women’s growth. His session underscored the importance of deliberate, ongoing efforts to foster gender equity and attract top female talent in a fast-evolving industry.
The event wrapped up with a final networking session, filled with fresh ideas and optimism.
- DEI fuels progress. Diverse teams drive more innovative, agile, and impactful solutions.
- Inclusive cultures matter. Creating supportive workplaces is essential for long-term success in the EV sector.
- The change is happening, we just need to foster it. The EV industry is a modern sector for a modern world. We heard from companies with fantastic initiatives to progress women through their ranks. The initiatives are working, it’s time we all get behind them.
