bp pulse continues its network expansion with a new charging hub at Stanstead Airport

bp pulse has opened a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at the bp Stansted SF Connect retail site. The facility boasts three ultra-fast 300kW chargers, each capable of servicing two cars simultaneously.

This new hub is strategically positioned to cater to the needs of travellers and taxi drivers. Ideally timed for the start of the summer holidays.

In addition to charging, the site offers several amenities that we’ve come to expect. That includes coffee and food from bp’s Wild Bean Cafe.

Akira Kirton, CEO of bp pulse commented:

“The launch of this new charging hub is yet another step in our commitment to expanding our charging network and supporting the expansion of the UK’s EV infrastructure. The site’s close proximity to Stansted Airport makes it the ideal choice for travellers and taxi drivers who need a quick and convenient charge.”

The new hub is part of bp’s broader effort to grow its network. Currently, the network boasts over 150 bp retail sites across the UK. However, challenges persist, including securing high-power grid connections and navigating planning permissions.

Despite these challenges, high-traffic sites like this one remain a top priority. Visible, accessible, and convenient charging is essential to encouraging the early mainstream wave of EV adopters.
