BMW’s ‘Heart of Joy’ description for the EV era
The ‘Heart of Joy’ can be described as one of the powerhouses within the Neue Klasse EV platform. Complemented by performance control software, this forms the forceful and capable new driving and dynamics control unit in the BMW i3, with response rates ten times faster than old systems.
Overall, this will lead to extraordinarily precise handling compared to previous BMW models. Even on slippery surfaces like those currently being tested, BMW says this ‘Heart of Joy’ philosophy ensures agile velocity, strength, and driving accuracy.
What specs does the new BMW i3 possess?
Full production of the BMW i3 is expected to start in the second half of 2026. Charging speeds of up to 400kW will be possible, while the car can be specified with a maximum power output of 469 horsepower.
