Blink and Create Energy’s partnership brings new turnkey solution to expand networks and keep the grid safe

Europe’s push towards emobility is raising questions as to the limits of its power grids. Recent blackouts in Spain and Portugal have highlighted the fragility of the current infrastructure. Sales are climbing, charging stations are multiplying, and big cities like Stockholm are banning fossil-fuel cars. But there’s one big question: Can the grid handle it?
That’s where a new partnership between Blink Charging and Create Energy comes in. The companies have launched an all-in-one system that combines EV chargers, solar panels, and energy storage. It’s designed to ease pressure on the grid by delivering on-site, renewable energy where and when it’s needed.
Mike Battaglia, CEO and President of Blink Charging, commented:
“This collaboration is about redefining what’s possible in EV infrastructure.By incorporating Create Energy’s Nanogrid systems into our EV charging portfolio and business models, we’re providing a fully integrated approach to energy and charging that improves performance, enhances resiliency, and enables faster, more cost-efficient deployment. The collaboration is a dual market agreement, allowing both companies to sell this solution to our respective markets.”
This turnkey solution includes Blink’s advanced chargers and Create Energy’s Nanogrid storage tech. It’s scalable, self-powered, and deployable in areas where grid access is limited or expensive. Instead of relying solely on external power, EV sites can store solar energy and use it to charge cars or feed it back into the grid when demand peaks.

That flexibility matters. While Europe’s grid can support the EV shift in total capacity, peak-hour strain remains a concern. If millions of cars charge at once, sudden demand spikes could stress even modernised infrastructure. Smart charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems are part of the solution. So are localised storage systems like Nanogrid.
Create Energy’s tech has already proven itself in the US. Now, paired with Blink’s charging hardware, it’s expanding across North America—with Europe in sight.
Dean Solon, Founder and CEO of Create Energy, added:
“We’re thrilled to supercharge our Create Energy solutions by joining forces with Blink Charging’s top-notch EV hardware and software. Together, we’re not just building a one-stop-shop ecosystem—we’re adding serious muscle to our growing ‘un-evil empire’ of innovation! This powerhouse collaboration puts groundbreaking Nanogrid technology at Blink customers’ fingertips, paving the way for enhanced resilience and a brighter energy future. Let’s Create change!”
