Back to the Future: The Delorean is back and this time it’s an electric vehicle (EV)

The Delorean is coming back and this time it will be a zero-emissions electric vehicle (EV). The Delorean Motor Company (DMC) is bringing back the classic wing doored sports car that shot to fame at the end of the 1985 classic movie Back to the Future.

DMC, which is now owned by British engineer Stephen Wynne who acquired the rights to the original company’s name in 1995, will bring back one of the most iconic sports cars later this year. It’s fitting that the car that is being relaunched along with the updated film that is expected to hit our screens later this year.

The news was revealed when the Delorean Motor Company (DMC) put out a Tweet on Twitter. It simply said: The Future was never promised. Reimagine today.

According to the Tweet’s hashtags, the new electric car will be called the DeLorean EVolved for obvious reasons and will be a luxury model. We look forward to seeing this one.
