Aston Martin has propelled its electric vehicle strategy by teaming up with Lucid Group

British luxury car manufacturer, Aston Martin, is accelerating its electric performance car ambitions through a groundbreaking supply agreement with Lucid Group, a leader in EV technologies. This partnership will be crucial to Aston Martin’s electrification strategy and long-term growth. The move also shines a spotlight on Lucid’s ground-breakign work in the EV sector.

Under the agreement, Lucid, known for advanced electric powertrains, will supply their cutting-edge EV technologies. These technologies will form the basis of Aston Martin’s new in-house Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platform.

The new BEV platform will power a range of luxury high-performance EVs, including hypercars, GTs, and SUVs. The first model is expected in 2025, with a plug-in hybrid, the Valhalla, arriving in 2024.

Aston Martin’s electrification strategy is a core pillar of its broader Racing. Green. Sustainability plan, with a £2 billion investment in advanced technologies over the next five years. The goal is to offer an electrified powertrain option for all models by 2030.

This partnership with Lucid complements Aston Martin’s existing collaboration with Mercedes-Benz AG. This means they have access to industry-leading technologies for current and future vehicles.

Aston Martin is also working with partners like Brembo and Pirelli to develop brake-by-wire systems and intelligent tire sensors for improved performance and sustainability.
