RAW Charging offers free EV charging at 400 UK locations to celebrate World EV Day

Free EV charging across leisure destinations, shopping centres, and more, to mark this year's World EV Day

UK EV charging provider, RAW Charging, is once again offering free charging at over 400 locations on 9 September, celebrating this year’s World EV Day. It’s one of a number of activations taking place to mark the day, bringing more awareness to the global shift towards emobility.

Free EV charging for World EV Day in the UK

The free charging offer spans its entire AC charging network, along with select DC fast chargers within its network. This brings free charging to a variety of destinations across the UK for the day, including National Trust properties, Greene King pubs, retail parks, theme parks, and more. This offer will be available to all EV drivers, with no need to install an app or setup an account to benefit from the limited time offer.

For the UK in particular, this year’s World EV Day and RAW Charging’s free charging deal come at a pivotal time for EV adoption in the country. Last month, EVs accounted for a significant 30% of new car registrations, and the total number of electric cars running on UK roads now exceeds 2.15 million. With that number increasing every month, competition between charge point operators is increasing.

Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, commented:

“World EV Day is a chance to celebrate how far the UK has come and to make the switch to electric feel that little bit easier. That is exactly what we are doing by opening up free charging right across our network: at the shopping parks, gardens, pubs, attractions and days out where people already spend their time.

What matters just as much as the free charging is how simple it is. There is no app to download and no account to set up, drivers just tap a bank card and plug in. That is how public charging should work, and it is the experience we are proud to offer every day of the year, not just on World EV Day.”
