  • FIAT’s commercial vehicle branch, FIAT Professional, has revealed a new fully-electric three-wheeled vehicle, called the TRIS.
  • The TRIS will complement FIAT’s existing electric van range, offering a compact and sustainable solution for last-mile delivery.
  • This new model will initially come to the Middle East and Africa region, which FIAT say will be a ‘game-changer’ for B2B micromobility in the region.

FIAT TRIS is the brand’s smallest commercial EV yet

While the TRIS will initially launch in the Middle East and Africa region, the company has hinted at the EV later making its way to regions such as Europe. With commercial micromobility solutions constantly gaining popularity in Europe, that could make it all the more likely that the TRIS will arrive in Europe in the future.

Widening its use case, the TRIS will be available in three configurations, namely chassis-cab, flatbed, and pick-up form. The barebones chassis-cab which is designed for the customer to build upon will offer endless specialisations for this micro EV. The cargo area on the TRIS stands at around 2.25 square metres of load space, with a maximum payload capacity of 540 kilograms. Top speed for the TRIS is 45 km/h, with a small 6.9 kWh battery pack providing a maximum drivable range of 90 kilometres – the same battery used in Fiat’s compact Topolino EV. This specification is perfectly suited for last-mile deliveries and ultra-urban applications.

As part of the Stellantis group, the FIAT TRIS will be manufactured at a facility in Morocco, which already produces other ultra-compact EVs from Stellantis such as the Citroen Ami and FIAT Topolino. Pricing for this new EV hasn’t been confirmed, but FIAT have said the TRIS will offer ‘affordability’ and ‘low running costs’.

Olivier Francois, FIAT CEO and Stellantis Global Chief Marketing Officer, commented:

“TRIS is more than just a new vehicle—it’s a breakthrough in how we think about urban mobility. Born from Italian creativity at the Centro Stile and engineered for the realities of daily life. As cities grow and the need for clean, accessible transport becomes more urgent, we saw an opportunity to offer something radically simple and profoundly useful. TRIS answers that call—providing independent workers, small businesses, and underserved communities with a cost-effective, zero-emissions tool to move forward. With its debut in the Middle East and Africa, TRIS is set to transform last-mile mobility and open new doors to economic empowerment and social inclusion. And we believe its potential goes far beyond—Europe may be next, because this kind of smart, sustainable solution speaks a universal language.”
