- The UK city of Oxford has marked the sixth anniversary of World EV Day™ with a number of EV-related special offers taking place across the city, championing the switch to electric vehicles.
- EZ Charge is offering free charging across all of its Oxford locations on the day, whilst Fastned is also offer free charging all day through its chargers located at the Redbridge Park & Ride – the location of a large EV charging hub partially born out of the EV SUMMIT.
- These locations are just a few of the many free public charging offers taking place right across the UK today.
EV special offers across Oxford for World EV Day™
In the city, both Fastned and EZ Charge are offering zero-cost charging, with Fastned running the offer at its bays at the Energy Superhub Oxford, whilst EZ charge running its own offer across its on-street charging locations.
Energy Superhub Oxford, which brings three CPOs (Fastned, Tesla, and Wenea) together onto one site, is a key piece of EV infrastructure in the region, providing charging for up to 42 electric vehicles at once. Just recently, the hub celebrated its third anniversary, having already charged over 137,000 vehicles. The hub also has the capacity to expand further in the future.
Blink Charging, meanwhile, which operates public charging sites at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre and Headington Car Park, has marked the occasion with a 30% price discount at the two sites. This brings fast charging fees down to just 40p per kWh, and rapid charging fees down to 49p per kWh.
Oxford is a key place for the UK’s EV transition, thanks to next week’s EV SUMMIT also taking place in the city at the Blavatnik School of Government. However, Oxford isn’t the only part of the UK benefitting from the opportunity to charge up for free this World EV Day™. Across the country, zero-cost charging is on offer at a variety of locations: From theme parks, pubs, hotels, National Trust sites, retail outlets, and more.
