- Home EV charger provider Ohme has partnered with UK energy firm E.ON Next, to make affordable home EV charging a reality for more customers.
- Ohme customers will be able to easily switch to E.ON Next’s EV-specific ‘Next Drive’ energy tariff.
- With the number of electric cars on UK roads growing at a rapid rate, ensuring the affordability of home charging is more important than ever to keep up the impressive rate of EV adoption.
Ohme and E.ON Next partner for affordable tariff option
Under the new deal, new and existing Ohme customers will have the option to switch to E.ON Next’s ‘Next Drive’ tariff. This tariff offers an impressively low overnight (12am-7am) home charging rate of 6.7p per kWh, allowing for a full charge to cost just several pounds on many EVs – making electric vehicle ownership an evidently more affordable option than ICE ownership. A smart #1 with the 49kWh battery pack, for example, could charge up for as little as £3.29 on this tariff.
When it comes to the most efficient electric cars on sale, taking heed of the best tips for improving EV efficiency and charging overnight could make EV ownership even more affordable.
Jean Coleman, Commercial Director at E.ON Next, commented:
“Ohme is a progressive EV charging company and our Next Drive tariff offer will help more customers to unlock smarter and cheaper overnight charging, so we’re delighted to be working with them. We want to make the switch to electric easy and accessible for all, helping to ensure that no driver is left behind in the e-mobility transition.”
David Watson, CEO of Ohme, added:
“Ohme is committed to bringing affordable home charging to as many EV drivers as possible by connecting them with the UK’s best electricity tariffs. This customer offer with E.ON Next is a great step to helping EV drivers access the best tariffs and the best rates on the market.”
