GRIDSERVE prices

GRIDSERVE operates a transparent pricing structure, but the exact price you pay will vary depending on the speed of the charger in question, and the payment method which you use.
For those carrying out charging sessions on its ultra-rapid DC chargers, which offer speeds of up to 360kW in some locations, a price of £0.79 per kWh is applied through those paying via the free-of-charge GRIDSERVE app. For those using a contactless payment method on these same chargers, a price between £0.79 per kWh and £0.85 per kWh will be applied.
GRIDSERVE also operates a significant number of lower power, 22kW AC chargers. If you’re leaving your EV for a few hours, this can be a cheaper way to charge up, with an AC charging price of just £0.49 per kWh in comparison.
You may also notice a pre-authorisation charge against your payment method, which is refunded once the charging session is completed. For those using contactless payment methods, this temporary charge stands at £30, whilst for those using its own app, the charge stands at £10.
GRIDSERVE app
We recommend using the GRIDSERVE app to benefit from the cheapest charging prices. The app, available through both the App Store and Play Store, also allows for discovery of all charging locations under the network, remote monitoring of an ongoing charging session, and a receipts function that shows all previous EV charging sessions – particularly useful if you need to claim back costs for public charging from your employer.
GRIDSERVE locations
This CPO offers charging opportunities across a diverse range of locations, including motorway service areas and popular destinations such as farm shops. It has also started opening what it calls Electric Forecourts: dedicated EV charging hubs with a high number of bays and on-site facilities. This includes an Electric Forecourt located directly outside London’s Gatwick airport, helping travellers to recharge 24 hours, 365 days a year. The map on GRIDSERVE’s website offers a great overview of all the locations it offers across the UK.
