Great Wall Motor (GWM) to launch ORA Funky Cat First Edition electric car in Autumn

ORA UK has announced pricing and specification details for its highly anticipated Funky Cat electric vehicle (EV). The neat town car from Great Wall Motor (GWM) will hit the UK market later this year as a ‘First Edition’ series. 

ORA UK are currently working to establish a nationwide network of retailers that will scale up as the brand grows. While there will be a big focus on physical retailers, ORA products will also be available to purchase through the ORA online sales platform. This is planned to launch in August.

The ORA Funky Cat First EditionAs a highly specified launch vehicle, the Funky Cat First Edition will be available with a 48kWh battery offering a range of 193 miles (311km). This first edition variant will cost £30,495 after the Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG).

This model features comprehensive charging capability with Type 2, 6.6kW single-phase AC and 11kW three-phase AC charging as standard. Funky Cat First Edition will also feature a maximum of 80kW DC rapid charging and come equipped with a CCS socket as standard.

Based on 15-80 percent charge status, 6.6kW home charging will take users around five or six hours. This time is cut when moving up to 11kW on-street charging, which takes around three to four hours. When charged with a 80kW rapid charger it will take just 40 minutes.

The First Edition will come equipped with adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, a reversing camera, LED headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels. It will also feature integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless phone charging and electric front seats.
