Tesla Supercharger network opens up to BMWs in North America

BMW EVs can now Plug & Charge at Tesla Supercharger locations across North America, in big win for BMW EV drivers.
  • BMW electric cars across North America are now compatible with the growing Tesla Supercharger public charging network, granting drivers access to another 25,000 high-power EV chargers across the continent.
  • The move comes as BMW transitions to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), with some 2026 models set to ship with a native NACS charging port.
  • BMW joins a growing list of car brands whose drivers can now benefit from the Tesla Supercharger network, which recently included Stellantis.

These Tesla locations will now also be visible through the infotainment screen on BMW EVs, as well as through the BMW app. The current generation of BMW EVs can use a CCS to NACS adapter to pair with a Tesla Supercharger, with the charging initiation process also being hands off, thanks to Plug & Charge – with no need to open an app or touch a chargepoint screen to start the charging process. Pricing for BMW drivers will be in line with Supercharging pricing for all non-Tesla EVs (Teslas benefit from a reduced charging cost at these locations).

From next year, BMW will start shipping some of its North American-specification EVs with a NACS port from factory, and will also offer its own official CCS to NACS adapter for EVs already produced, making this charging process even easier.

NACS is rapidly becoming the charging connector of choice for the North American EV market. Last month, Stellantis also confirmed that from 2026, some of its electric models will natively support the standard, starting with vehicles such as the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona. The acceleration of NACS marks an industry shift towards a unified charging experience for all EV drivers in North America, no matter which brand they drive.
